Distribution Cohort
Making a film is only half the journey. For many Christian filmmakers, figuring out how to find an audience, create awareness, and move from completed project through the distribution windows is the other half of the journey.
Too often filmmakers enter distribution without a plan, launch marketing too late, struggle to connect with distributors, or hope that audiences will simply discover their film. The result is missed opportunities, limited reach, and uncertainty about the success of their film.
The Faith Film Collective Distribution Cohort was created to change that.
This collaborative cohort equips faith-based filmmakers with practical tools, industry insight, and a supportive community to help turn distribution into a purposeful and strategic process. Through guided sessions and real-world frameworks, participants will develop a roadmap designed specifically for their film.
Inside the cohort, you will learn how to:
- Build an audience before release through intentional audience development strategies that create engagement and long-term support.
- Create a distribution plan that aligns with your goals, whether pursuing festivals, theatrical events, direct-to-audience releases, streaming, ministry partnerships, or distributors.
- Connect with distributors more effectively by understanding what they look for and preparing materials and positioning that strengthen your opportunities.
- Develop a marketing plan that gives your film momentum—from messaging and campaigns to partnerships and launch execution.
This is more than a course—it is a cohort experience where filmmakers learn alongside others facing similar challenges, receive accountability, gain feedback, and build relationships that continue beyond release. This cohort helps you build the strategy to make sure it reaches the people who need to see it.
Coming Fall 2026
This group will be open to filmmakers who are in the development stages or pre-production of a feature film, documentary or series.
In this group, we will work together through six sessions (2 meetings a month for 3 months) to identify your film’s ideal audience, develop a distribution plan, connecting with distributors, and creating a marketing plan.

Audience Development
We will explore key audience development strategies, learning how to identify, engage, and grow a core audience. You will discover how intentional audience development can strengthen marketing efforts and increase distribution opportunities.
Distribution Planning
We will walk through developing a strategic distribution roadmap. We will explore release strategies, platform opportunities, budgeting considerations, and partnership planning to better position your films for audience reach and long-term success.
Connecting with Distributors
Gain insight into how distributors evaluate projects, what materials and strategies will help your film stand out, and how to approach conversations with confidence and clarity. You will learn practical ways to prepare your project for distributors.
Marketing Planning
We will explore foundational marketing strategies inspired by industry best practices. You will learn how to craft messaging, develop promotional timelines, leverage digital platforms, and create campaigns that support both audience engagement and distribution goals from pre-release through release.
